The German national team and Werder keeper Tim Wiese dropped their first test match of 2012, losing 2-1 to France Wednesday night at Bremen's Weser Stadium. Olivier Giroud (21st) and Florent Malouda (69th) scored the goals for the French while Germany's Cacau pulled a goal back just before the final whistle (90th).

Wiese played the entire 90 minutes for Germany and earned his sixth international cap, giving a strong performance despite the defeat.
