What is wrong with Wesley? Many Werder fans are asking this question. Head coach Thomas Schaaf also took time at the official press conference on Thursday 27 October 2011 to look for the causes why the Brazilian "is not able to cope with his current condition. We are not satisfied. I don't think he is either. We have big expectations of him because we saw him do things that made us hungry to see more. He is struggling to do that. His injury really pushed him back," said Schaaf about Wesley's long-time injury.
The Brazilian tore a tendon in November 2010 at Schalke. "We have to keep calm and patient. We have to continue to support him. He would like to take part on as much of our game as possible. Often he is too dreamy, but you cannot make him get rid of everything," said Schaaf. "We don't want to push Wes away but experience him how we got to know him. But it's critical that he addresses these problems. That is an important point in his personality. We want to work with him to make him even stronger," said the coach.
