Werder fans had to wait a long time to finally see Wesley back on the training grounds with football boots on. The Brazilian has trained with the team since Monday and nobody is happier about that more than Wesley himself. "I am very happy that I can train again with the team. I feel good but I still have to be careful. After all, I don't want to go overboard," the all-around told the WERDER.TV camera.

"I have to answer the question for myself how much I can push him already."

Wesley received a complement after the first training impressions from head coach Thomas Schaaf at Thursday's press conference. "He worked very intensively in rehab and you can see that he's a guy who doesn't need a lot of preparation and is quickly back in his movements. That looked very promising already. He gives you a very active and lively impression," said the head coach about the return of the dribbling maestro.

Wesley would love to be able to return to game action on Saturday in the North Derby against Hamburg. But Schaaf has yet to commit to that. "At the moment I am still uncertain if he will be available on the roster as a substitute or a candidate for a starting spot," said the coach. "I have to answer the question for myself still how much I can push him already."
