There were no wins for Werder's international representatives on Wednesday evening. Whilst Mehmet Ekici (Turkey) and Theodor Gebre Selassie (Czech Republic) were involved in draws, Marko Arnautovic, Zlatko Junuzovic, Sebastian Prödl (all Austria) and Aleksandar Ignjovski (Serbia) were on the receiving end of defeats with their respective nations.

Whilst Gebre Selassie played the full ninety minutes of his side 1-1 draw against Hungary (Budapest), Ekici spent the same amount of time on the bench as Turkey played out a 2-2 draw with Ghana (Istanbul). Austria's national team, with Werder's Arnautovic, Junuzovic and Prödl were beaten 0-2 by Greece in Salzburg. ‚Zladdi‘ played over the full distance, whilst Prödl was brought in in the 46th minute and Arnautovic was in action until the 65th minute. Serbia's Ignjovski didn't feature during his side's 0-1 defeat to Columbia in Barcelona.

All of Werder's international representatives are expected back in Bremen on Thursday, 15.08.2013, when the attention will be immediately switched to this Saturday's home clash with FC Augsburg (kick-off 3:30pm). Contrary to the mid-week international friendlies, there will be vital points at stake again at the weekend.
