Werder fans will experience a premiere on Saturday as SV Werder and SpVgg Greuther Fürth will play a competitive match at Weser Stadium for the first time. Both previous match-ups have taken place in Fürth - in the quarter-finals of the 2003-04 German Cup (a 3-2 Werder win) and the first half of this season (a 1-1 draw).

... that Fürth have a new head coach since Tuesday? SpVgg signed Frank Kramer as the successor to Ludwig Preis, who was the caretaker after the sacking of Mike Büskens. The 40-year-old Kramer, who played for Fürth and coached the club's second team, last headed Hoffenheim's U23 side. He also filled in for two Bundesliga matches in December for Hoffenheim as caretaker coach.
... that Werder are facing a possible negative record? Bremen have lost two straight matches at home. Werder have never lost three home matches in a row in a Bundesliga season.
... that Werder have collected just 29 points from 25 matches this season? They have collected fewer points just five times in club history to this point of the season. The only time it happened under Thomas Schaaf was 2010-11 with 28 points, ending the season in 13th place.
