The player who took the biggest strides in the second half of the season is returning to his home city as a Bundesliga player. Tom Trybull will be on Werder's game roster on Saturday for the Bundesliga match against Hertha Berlin.
And the 18-year-old even has good chances of being in the starting line-up. "Of course I am hoping for it. That's what you work for the whole week," said Trybull, who does not want to get too excited about the game. "Of course a game at Olympic Stadium is a big chance. I already experienced a game there with the U16 national team. There were 25,000 people in the stands against France but unfortunately I sat on the bench for 90 minutes," said Trybull, who is looking forward to taking in the atmosphere on Saturday from the pitch.
Trybull can depend on the support from his family in Berlin. "My parents and my uncle will definitely be coming. They are my biggest fans and biggest critics," said Trybull. And the Berlin native believes the small private Trybull fan club has a good chance to celebrate three points for the Green-Whites. "Despite the loss against Nuremberg, I could sense in training that there is an absolutely positive energy in the team. It's just going well for us. And we want to show our supporters that again tomorrow," said Trybull. A victory - and maybe with a Trybull goal like in the North Derby - would be an early birthday present for the young Werder player. He turns 19 years old on Friday 9 March 2012.
