Despite freezing cold, the Werder players returned to the training grounds on Wednesday after an off-day on Tuesday. The players fended off the freezing temperatures with hats, gloves, training jackets and long joggers. Philipp Bargfrede and Lennart Thy were the only two players who did not wear any head gear. Assistant coach Wolfgang Rolff was affected even less by the weather, remaining in training shorts throughout practice. Rolff said he would wear the training joggers only in temperatures "lower than minus 10 degrees".
Tim Borowski was happy to wear the long trousers in taking the next step in his comeback, running a few laps around the grounds while his team-mates played 11 v. 11 as well as completing coordination drills and a lot of short sprints. That was then the end of the training day for the 30-year-old Borowski. "I feel really good," said "Boro". Still, he does not expect to return to team training this week. Borowski will have to wait to make this comeback until next year. Chances are also not that good that Wesley will be fit in time for the final match of the first half of the season against Kaiserslautern on Saturday 18 December 2010. The Brazilian completed another training session in the catacombs of Weser Stadium.
