In the mixed zone after the game, head coach Thomas Schaaf was almost father-like in ruffling the hair of the 19-year-old Florian Trink and pushed him in front of the WERDER.TV camera. "They want to talk to you! You can say something positive," said Schaaf. The coach was pleased with the starting debut this season of the Thuringia native. "He rewarded himself today. He can tell everyone that he played a good game," said Schaaf about the youngster. "Florian had big problems at the beginning of the season finding his rhythm and the season has not gone as he had imagined. But he always kept going and he rewarded himself today with this performance."
The 19-year-old did not really need any encouragement from his coach because his own reflection was realistic enough to complete the media marathon after the game. "The headlines before the game presented me more nervous than I was. It was clear that I did not have to save to the team. I only wanted to step up and prove that I can use my chance at this level and I believe that it worked. I am very happy," said Trinks.
