Florian Trinks was exhausted but more than happy as he addressed the journalists after the game. The 18-year-old youngster had just played his first full 90 minutes of the Bundesliga. "I am pretty tired but of course am happy that we got the equaliser. It feels like a victory after coming back from 2-0 down," said Trinks, who made his Bundesliga debut nearly a month ago against Bayern Munich. After playing a total of just 41 Bundesliga minutes, Trinks was called upon to start by Werder coach Thomas Schaaf. "I thank Thomas Schaaf for the trust which he gave me. I hope that I was able to help the team a little bit today," said Trinks.
The Werder bosses were very satisfied with Trinks's performance against the second placed team. "With the freshness that he brings in, his element of youth and unconcern, he did excellently today," said Schaaf about Trinks. "Florian has been in the club for a long time and missed a long time as well. But his showing today documented that he belongs among us." But Schaaf also said the 18-year-old has room to improve. "That was a good start today, but he naturally has to continue to improve." And manager Klaus Allofs offered: "Trinks is a huge talent who offers us an additional option in the midfield."
