Kevin Schindler will be seen in the FC St. Pauli shirt with immediate effect. Prior to the friendly game on Tuesday evening between second division St. Pauli and Werder Bremen, the ‘Kiezclub' announced the news. The 23 year old will receive a one year deal, with the option then to stay for a further year. "I have a lot to thank Werder for but I am looking forward to the new challenge. We have a good team and I know some of the players from before. There is a lot possible with this side," commented Schindler, who appeared for his new employers for the first time during the game against his former club: "You can really feel that there is a very special atmosphere at the Millerntor. I'm looking forward to more of that," said the striker.
Schindler made five Bundesliga and three UEFA Cup appearances for Werder. In addition, the front man from Delmenhorst played 48 games for the Werder Under 23 reserves, ten in the third division and 38 in the Regionalliga (4th division).
