The SV Werder Bremen have signed 22-year-old Bosnian international Izet Hajrovic. The midfielder, who was born and raised in Switzerland, put pen to paper Thursday morning on a four-year contract until 30 June 2018.
The World Cup participant will join the team at the training camp in Zillertal on 19 July 2014. Hajrovic on Wednesday passed the obligatory medical check in Bremen. He will be presented to the public on Thursday in Bremen.
"We are very happy that he's coming to us. We are certain that he will quickly be integrated into the team and develop," said Werder manager of sports Thomas Eichin. Head coach Robin Dutt sees the offensive midfielder as the reinforcement the team was looking for. "He is the additional option on offense that we wanted. He is fast, strong with the ball and very good dribbling in one-on-one situations," said the coach.
Hajrovic played last season at Galatasaray Istanbul but terminated his contract with the Turkish team. He arrived in Turkey in the winter after leaving Swiss club Grashoppers Zürich, where he made the jump to the professional side.
