"I feel really good again. At the moment I don't have any pain. Of course I feel the burden every now and again after training, but it doesn't feel bad. Now we have to see how it develops until the end of the week and then I hope that I can help the team against Leverkusen," Prödl told media members before the afternoon session.
Despite deficits after missing a few weeks of training, ‘Basti' sounded ready to be back on the pitch. "Of course I have a fitness deficit since I was out a while. But if we take the risk for Saturday and decide to have me in the squad, then I will also give everything to help the team. Even if I have a spot on the reserve bench and I only come in for one or two minutes to hold the result," said Prödl.
Nils Petersen meanwhile was not even on the pitch in the afternoon. The striker had to sit due to muscular problems. "We hope that he can get back on Wednesday," said head coach Robin Dutt.
It was similar for Werder's deputy captain Aaron Hunt, who had to leave training after an hour for muscular problems. It's unclear if Hunt will be back for Wednesday's session at 10 a.m.
