The start of Werder Bremen's third training camp in Donaueschingen was rainy. The Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf believes the somewhat isolated Golf hotel Öschberghof is an advantage for the final training camp before the start of the season. "This is exactly the peace we need to let us concentrate and continue our work from the past weeks. We want to push forward and play better with one another, put everyone else in good situations and let their qualities shine through. And the conditions are perfect with absolutely fantastic pitches," said Schaaf.

With 29 players, the squad is well-manned though it also includes Sebastian Prödl, Naldo and Claudio Pizarro, who will not join team training during the camp. "But it doesn't hurt that they are back with their teammates," said Schaaf.

The following 29 players are at the training camp in Donaueschingen:
Wiese, Mielitz, Vander, Naldo, Wesley, Borowski, Arnautovic, Fritz, Avdic, Marin, Rosenberg, Schmitz, Hunt, Prödl, Kroos, Wagner, Ekici, Wolf, Pizarro, Trybull, Schindler, P. Stevanovic, A. Stevanovic, Trinks, Thy, Balogun, Schoppenhauer, Mlynikowski, Bargfrede.
