Claudio Pizarro and Wesley were back to striking crosses and jumping over hurdles as they took the next step to returning to team training to start off the week of practice. Chances are good that both South Americans can be on the pitch along with their teammates in the coming days.
Most of their teammates, however, remained in the changing rooms entirely on Monday as the focal point was video analysis. While Wesley and Pizarro completed their afternoon individual session with physiotherapist Sven Plagge, head coach Thomas Schaaf was on the sidelines observing small sprint competitions among Tim Borowski, Denni Avdic, Sandro Wagner, Said Huseljinovic and Samuel.
Kroos runs after slight strain Felix Kroos was also one of the eight players who were on the pitch on Monday. The youngster completed a half-hour running session after missing Friday training with a slight strain in the left thigh and not making the trip to Hamburg. "I hope that I can be back this week," said Kroos after the training. Per Mertesacker and Sebastian Prödl both missed the training on the pitch after the game in Hamburg but Schaaf said "they should return in the coming days."
The videos will remain off on Tuesday as the team returns to the fresh air for training at 10 a.m.
