Moving for Werder Bremen! The Green-Whites swapped their usual training grounds to start February, moving to Weser Stadium. The poor pitch conditions of the outside grounds made the move necessary. "There are better conditions here," said head coach Thomas Schaaf, who only had to do without Florian Hartherz on Wednesday as he had school duties.
Claudio Pizarro also was in favour of moving into the Green-Whites' "living room". "The training ground feels too hard. It's better in the stadium," said Werder's top scorer.
Wednesday's training did have some fun, including by Aleksandar Ignjovsjki. "Good atmosphere, great stands. I enjoyed it," joked "Iggy" after the end of training in an empty Weser Stadium, which usually is filled with 42,000 spectators.
