Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf had two pieces of good news Friday morning as Marko Arnautovic and Aleksandar Ignjovski both returned to the pitch for team training. "We are happy that both were able to train today without any problems," said Schaaf in the official press conference before the match at Hoffenheim on Sunday.
Arnautovic came back after overcoming his cold, which had kept him away from the team for three days. "I feel a lot better," said the Austrian. Ignjovski, who suffered a bruised knee against Leverkusen, was also back on the pitch. "I am very relieved that it wasn't a more serious injury and that I was able to train again with the guys," said the 20-year-old Serbian, who made his return to the starting line-up on Wednesday for the first time in two months.
However, it remains uncertain if the duo will be available for the weekend. "Of course we have to wait and how both deal with the burden. They can always have setbacks. But we aren't assuming any will occur. Therefore, I think that we can plan with both for the weekend," said Schaaf.
