A chorus of men were singing Tuesday afternoon 27 September 2011 on the training grounds of Weser Stadium. Before the Werder players started kicking the ball, they formed a circle and serenaded Markus Rosenberg - as the Swede turned 29! "I wish some more game practice," joked Werder's striker after the training session. "Health and being with my family. That's enough."
Tim Borowski and Sokratis were unable to congratulate "Rosi" on the pitch. Werder's Greek international Sokratis is labouring with a torn muscle fibre in the adductors area. "Hopefully he can be back this week," said head coach Thomas Schaaf. Things are a bit different with "Boro", who has been fighting ankle problems for weeks. "He continues to have problems at different spots in the ankle over the past couple weeks. Therefore he cannot consistently practice and must continue to go through rehab," said Schaaf.
How will Markus Rosenberg celebrate his birthday? "Very comfortably with my in-laws, my wife and my daughter."
