Good news from the training pitch! Following the return of Santiago Garcia to the training pitch on Tuesday morning, in the afternoon both Clemens Fritz and Eljero Elia were able to rejoin their team mates for the later session of the day. All three had been rested up since Sunday with lesser injuries.
The first to rejoin the group was Santiago Garcia. As had been expected on Monday, the Argentine full-back was back on the training pitch and working with his colleagues on Tuesday morning at the ‘Weser-Stadium'. ‚Santi‘ had been rested up over previous days with pain in his right ankle and was individually treated by the Werder physiotherapists.
For Clemens Fritz and Eljero Elia, the waiting was finally over by Tuesday afternoon. The Green-White duo had both been in action over the complete ninety minutes against Hertha BSC on Saturday (2-2), but the captain finished the game complaining with a back problem, whilst ‚Elli‘ had incurred a muscular injury to his left thigh. "The problems are gone now, following the rehabilitation treatment over the past few days. I was able to train quite normally and the game against Hoffenheim on Saturday is not in jeopardy," said Fritz after the Tuesday work-out. Winger Elia was also positive after the session: "Training was great today. I got through the entire session without feeling any pain. That was really good," commented Elia.
