Denni Avdic will mark down 24 January 2012 in his calendar. That was the date on which Werder's Swedish striker made his way back to team training. After Avdic continually increased his individual rehab program, the 23-year-old was able to return to the Green-Whites' training grounds Tuesday morning. Sebastian Mielitz was a bit more cautious in the session after suffering a bruised shoulder during the Wintercup in Düsseldorf.
Aleksandar Ignjovski (adductor problems) and Sebastian Boenisch (bruised foot) meanwhile were unable to make it to the training grounds. Both hope to be fit in time for the Leverkusen match. But the Leverkusen game will likely come too early for Aaron Hunt, who is rehabbing from a strain in his adductors. "It won't be enough time. I can't play the ball with the inside of my foot yet. It still hurts," said Hunt. Naldo also will not be an option. "It is getting better slowly. There is another test at the end of the week. If everything is okay I can start running again," said Werder's defender.
