The second day of team training was also the second day without problems for Werder midfielders Felix Kroos and Zlatko Junuzovic. Both finally returned to training from long injury breaks on Monday and are feeling better and better after each session. But can either player be an option for the game squad on Sunday 26 January 2014 against Braunschweig?
"My knee is coping well with the stress. I hope that it works out on the weekend. It's really good that we have a long training week ahead of us in which I can use every session to get more confidence," said Kroos, who stayed on the pitch after the first training session to get in more work.
Junuzovic was more reserved about playing against Braunschweig. "I am doing well and it's really fun to be back on the pitch. Still, we have to look day by day and see how it develops. After nine weeks without match practice, I still need to get back my feeling for the ball. The coach will decide if I will play on the weekend," said the Austrian.
Still out of training on Tuesday were Aaron Hunt and Luca Zander. Hunt was ordered a couple of days rest due to adductor problems and will likely return to team training over the course of the week. Zander is expected to do the same as he went through individual training after recent tendon irritation in his left knee.
