"Sebastian Prödl and Aleksander Ignjovski will return today to team training," said Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf at Thursday's press conference. And just hours later, Prödl did return to the training grounds after the defender had worked his way back for a month with running sessions and light training with the ball.
"You are always excited about the first team training, but there is also some nervousness if everything will be okay. Today everything went okay. I am happy that I am back," said the Austrian after the session.
Prödl, however, could not say if he would be ready for the game against Bayern on Saturday 21 April 2012. All-arounder Aleksander Ignjovski meanwhile could not train with the team on Thursday. "‘Iggy' had an extra training this morning but had to break it off," said Schaaf. "We hope that he can be back tomorrow." Sokratis, who is suspended due to yellow cards, remained out of training after missing Wednesday's session with an adductors problem.
