"Work intensively at competition tempo" was the main focal point for head coach Thomas Schaaf during his session on Tuesday morning 18 October 2011. Despite typical Bremen weather for mid-October, Schaaf had his players on the training grounds for one and a half hours. And they worked on various game formations and shooting training ahead of the away match at Augsburg.
Back in training were Lukas Schmitz and Tom Trybull. Schmitz had missed training yesterday due to stomach pain while Trybull was away from the Weser Stadium training grounds for nearly a week with a ligament strain. "It went quicker than we thought. I was able to practice without any pain," said the 18-year-old Trybull after the Tuesday session.
The Werder players have more three days to forget about the last two defeats in the Bundesliga and get a positive result in Augsburg. "After last season, we cannot just go from zero to 100 straight away. It's normal that the absolute certainty, the inner substance and inner conviction are still missing. It takes a while for things to become automatic. We are on a good path. It's not the right time to be critical. We should be aggravated that we lost the last two games. But we also know that we have shown a lot of good things that we are trying to attain," said Schaaf.
