The Green-Whites had just a small group of players on the pitch for training on Wednesday morning - eight in total, the eight players that were not involved in yesterday evening's game at Millerntor. There was something to please those watching on all the same: Andreas Wolf and Philipp Bargfrede were back in action once again. "I got through it well," joked a good humoured Wolf. With a thumbs-up gesture, Philipp Bargfrede also made it clear that he was having no further problems with his thigh.
Naldo was also still beaming about his comeback: "I woke up this morning without any pain. Even after the strain of playing my knee feels good, but my legs are a bit heavy," admitted the Brazilian. And not only Naldo had a reason to be happy on Tuesday evening. Aleksandr Ignjovski and young hopeful Cimo Röcker made their Werder debuts. "Considering yesterday's performance, I would have absolutely no problem putting Iggy in to play in the Bundesliga," stated Thomas Schaaf.
