But there was good news personnel-wise for Schaaf and Co as Theodor Gebre Selassie was back on the pitch for the first time with his teammates after breaking his left hand, completing an easy running programme. "It hardly hurts at all and looks pretty good," said Gebre Selassie afterwards, showing off his injured hand. Other than the small band-aid and slight swelling, there is hardly any sign of the broken hand.
The Czech international wants to return to team training on Tuesday, exactly seven days after the unlucky collision in training. "Tomorrow I will see a hand specialist and get a sleeve. With that, I should be able to train normally," said Gebre Selassie, who assumes he will not miss any more time and can be available for the team against Bayern Munich.
The 26-year-old isn't worried that he could get a knock on his hand. "The thing is made of titanium. Nothing will happen," said ‘Theo' confidently and smiling. It was a smile that hopefully can improve the team's spirits.
