The good news first: Aaron Hunt was able to return to team training on Wednesday 14 December 2011 after missing practice a day earlier with knee problems. But things looked less positive for Mehmet Ekici, Aleksandar Ignjovski, Marko Marin, Naldo, Sokratis and Andreas Wolf.
The six Werder players were not yet back on the training grounds Wednesday. "We have to be a little more patient and see day-to-day if there are improvements," said head coach Thomas Schaaf about the personnel questions. There have been improvements with Mikael Silvestre, who has been back in training for three weeks after a long injury break and rehab program. But the French defender still must be patient regarding a match nomination. "Mikael has a long break behind him. We have to make sure that he gets back to competition as well as possible. There is a difference if you work out on rehab individually or train with the team," said Schaaf.
