Tom Trybull, Philipp Bargfrede and Levent Aycicek were back on the pitch Thursday for the first time after a long break. The trio may not have trained with the team but they were able to complete some drills with the ball under the watchful eye of athletic trainer Reinhard Schnittker.

"Our goal is to have Philipp and Tom fit in time for the start of the second half. With Levent, it will certainly take a bit longer. He has a lot to make up," said head coach Thomas Schaaf. The 18-year-old Aycicek has been out more than 14 months with a torn knee ligament and meniscus damage.

Finally back with the football: Tom Trybull and Levent Aycicek work on their return to the professional team.

The injury breaks for Bargfrede and Trybull were shorter as Bargfrede missed about a month with an Achilles tendon problem and Trybull has been out of training since the end of September with lingering foot problems.
