The last test match of the training camp in Belek, Turkey will kick off 30 minutes later. The game against AZ Alkmaar will now start Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. (local time) at the WOW Sports center in Kundu as Bremen accepted a request by the Dutch team.
Werder however are not changing their goal for the game. They finally want to pick up another victory at a Turkish training camp. The last win dates back to the 2-0 victory over Freiburg four years ago on the exact same day. Tuesday saw the Green-Whites working hard in training. One interesting measure was Sokratis being tried out at centre back. And the Greek international admitted afterwards that he had problems. "Until now I have only played on the right side. That was not a problem for me. But the centre back is my normal position I have played for years with the national team. But I will play wherever I am put," said the Greek respectfully.
Not on hand once again were Naldo and Denni Avdic, who both could only complete individual drills a day earlier as well. Naldo continues to deal with his knee problem while Avdic is fighting to come back from a longer break with muscular problems in the adductors area. Manager Klaus Allofs also answered a question if Sebastian Boenisch would be training with Werder past next summer, saying: "We are in intensive talks with Basti and Werder are at the top of the list despite interest from other clubs."
