One player comes back but the other leaves. Nils Petersen was back on the pitch for training Wednesday morning after missing the last couple days with thigh muscle problems. The 23-year-old did not train with his colleagues but he did complete an individual session with physiotherapist Florian Lauerer.
"Everything went well," said Petersen afterwards. "We will now continue to increase the stress so that I can hope of returning in full to training at the end of the week."
Wednesday morning was much less pleasing for Florian Hartherz. The fullback injured his left ankle in the final game Tuesday afternoon. The 19-year-old tried to participate in training Wednesday but had to leave the session early with pain. "I had pain in some movements and didn't want to risk it," said Hartherz.
Philipp Bargfrede and Cimo Röcker meanwhile were able to take part in full training after completing only individual training the past few days. "It was nice to be back. I didn't have any problems," said Bargfrede.
