First the test, then the final okay - Philipp Bargfrede and Felix Kroos both returned to the team Thursday after going through individual workouts in the morning and receiving the green light from head coach Robin Dutt to come back from their muscle problems. "They are back again. I hope that they get through training okay. If they do, then they will be on the squad on Saturday," Dutt said mid-day at the official press conference.

The afternoon training was packed with 23 players unlike the rest of the week beforehand as national team players Prödl, Junuzovic, Obraniak, Gebre Selassie, Kobylanski and Strebinger came back to the Weser - luckily - injury-free from their national team duty.

Before that, Santiago Garcia was a big topic of discussion ahead of the match at Nuremberg. The Argentinean suffered a partial ligament tear in his right knee and will miss a number of weeks. "We have plenty of experience in missing players this season. This absence is really a shame. ‘Santi' had an excellent game against Hamburg. That makes him being out hurt that much more. But we have alternatives and will decide for a good one on Saturday," said Dutt.

The coach named some of the alternatives as Luca Caldirola, Lukas Schmitz and Theodor Gebre Selassie. All three will have a final chance Friday at 3 p.m. to showcase themselves in training. Friday's training will be closed from the public.
