The training group at Weser Stadium is traditionally smaller during national team periods. Should other players also miss time with injuries, then the group can get pretty small pretty quick. Still, a trio of Green-Whites were able to return to the team on Tuesday.

Aleksandar Ignjovski, Lukas Schmitz and Özkan Yildirim trained for the first time this week with their teammates. And head coach Robin Dutt was also back after his coaching conference on Monday. Still, Felix Kroos and Philipp Bargfrede were not on the pitch on Tuesday.

Both are dealing with muscular problems. "It could be tight for them for the weekend," said Dutt. But he didn't want to count out the duo just yet. "The last match showed that we had thought the whole week that Ignjovski could not play. But in the end he was in the starting line-up against Hamburg," said the coach. Both players are day to day, according to Dutt.

Instead of Kroos and Bargfrede, two U23 players worked out with the team who hadn't trained with the team in quite some time - Luca Zander and Oliver Hüsing. Zander had been dealing with a left knee tendon strain since the winter training camp in Jerez de la Frontera while Hüsing missed part of the U23 first half with a broken foot.

Missing from training in the afternoon was deputy captain Aaron Hunt. "We rested Aaron. He was out three weeks recently and is not 100 percent fully fit," said Dutt.
