There's still three days before the first of the season before it finally means something! And the spectators could sense that in Robin Dutt's entire team at Thursday training. Every player showed that they absolutely want to be part of the squad for the match against 1. FC Saarbrücken on Sunday 4 August 2013 at 2:30 p.m. Mehmet Ekici and Aaron Hunt took the competition especially serious and even got into a brief argument.

"Both of them just displayed a good competitive aggressiveness. That happens when people are not in agreement on some tactical showdowns and things blow up," said Dutt after the morning training. "We had talked about it briefly and the guys shook hands and everything is okay now. Now we are all going to lunch together like normal."

One player who wasn't able to show any "competitive aggressiveness" was Eljero Elia. The Dutchman also missed Thursday's session due to sickness. "He is doing better but he still hasn't gotten the ‘okay' from the doctor. ‘Elli' even called me up this morning at 7:30 a.m. and said he wants to practice. But first he has to be fit again," said Dutt. "He definitely has earned to play on Sunday. The guy has given his all from the very start and completed an absolutely exemplary preparation."
