Wirder Bremen kick off the second half of the season on Saturday 15 January 2011 at 3:30 p.m. with a showdown against Hoffenheim at Weser Stadium. For all of those who want to show off their knowledge to their friends or family, WERDER.DE has once again collaborated with OptaSportdaten for the most important facts about Werder's first competitive match of 2011. Have fun!

- Werder Bremen won four of the six competitive matches against Hoffenheim (one draw). In the last showdown - on the first game day of the season - the Green-Whites suffered a 4-1 defeat.

- Hoffenheim's new coach is former assistant coach Marco Pezzaiuoli, who coached Germany's U17 team to the European championship in 2009. His successor Ralf Rangnick took over Hoffenheim in the Regionalliga and led them to the Bundesliga.

- The top scorers of both clubs have left their teams during the winter break. Hugo Almeida (nine goals) transferred from Werder to Besiktas while Demba Ba (six goals like Sigurdsson) moved out one day before kickoff to Premier League side Stoke City.

- Luiz Gustavo was another top player to leave Hoffenheim during the winter break as the Brazilian moved to Bayern Munich. Luiz Gustavo started every Bundesliga game during the 2010-11 season for Hoffenheim, scoring his second Bundesliga goal against Wolfsburg in his final game.
