Werder's number one keeper Raphael Wolf is back in the game squad for the away match at Borussia Mönchengladbach. The keeper is available again after recovering from his bruised pelvis and flu. "It's always an advantage for a coach when the number one keeper returns. We have to wait and see if he will play from the start but his situation has improved in the last few days," said Werder coach Viktor Skripnik.
The coach had the difficult task Tuesday afternoon of nominating the 18 players for the squad from the 26 players who took part in the final training. Skripnik will not have the playmaking services of talent Levent Aycicek, who will miss the match Wednesday at 8 p.m. with adductors problems.
This group of players started the 330-kilometre trip to Mönchengladbach by bus at 2:30 p.m.:
Wolf, Strebinger - Garcia, Caldirola, Gálvez, Lukimya, Makiadi, Fritz, Hajrovic, Junuzovic, Kroos, Bartels, Gebre Selassie, Hüsing, Selke, Lorenzen, Eggestein and Bargfrede.
