A surprisingly sunny and warm Good Friday had few surprises for Werder fans. After head coach Thomas Schaaf had to deal with negative news following the past few final trainings, there was nothing of the like this time at Weser Stadium.

The training squad was made up of 18 players and all of them remained uninjured and boarded the bus at 3 p.m. "We are travelling with the group that was on the pitch," said Schaaf, keeping his response short.

Also on board were Sokratis and Sebastian Boenisch, who both coped well with their return to team training.

The following 18 players hope to bring points back home from RheinEnergie Stadium: Wiese, Mielitz, Hartherz, Affolter, Silvestre, Sokratis, Boenisch, Schmitz, Junuzovic, Trybull, Trinks, Marin, Thy, Fritz, Ignjovski, Pizarro, Füllkrug, Rosenberg.
