Whatever Zlatko Junuzovic can do, Sokratis can do just as well: One day after Zladdi returned to team training, Werder's defensive boss Sokratis made his way back to Green-Whites training on Wednesday. "The knee is not causing me any problems, everything is good. I am happy that I didn't miss too much," said the Greek international defender after a successful 70 minutes of training.
Sokratis had to miss three days of training due to a laceration on his left knee from a challenge with Schalke's Michel Bastos.
Theodor Gebre Selassie was close to coming back to training as the 26-year-old completed an individual program in the morning and should be able to return in the "coming one, two days", according to Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf. Theo has been dealing with a ligament strain, which kept him out of the Schalke match.
Things are still wait and see with Clemens Fritz. The Werder captain has completed major portions of team training the last few days but he still cannot go into challenges with his healing broken rib. "The doctor has not given me the green light. I feel good but I still have to watch out. Düsseldorf will probably be too early," said Fritz, looking forward to the match Saturday at Fortuna.
