+++ Will Werder still be active? The transfer window closes on Friday at 6 p.m. Werder's manager of sports Thomas Eichin would not rule out after the match against Braunschweig that the team would still be active. "I have been travelling a bit the last few days and held a few talks. What's clear is that if we do something, then the player would have to be a reinforcement and not a complement. Besides, the financial aspect is important too. We would also have to be able to afford this kind of transfer. +++

+++ "Happy birthday to you": Aleksandar Ignjovski is celebrating his birthday today as the midfield all-arounder turned 23 years old. Just a note, Luca Caldirola will also turn 23 on Saturday 1 February 2014. Maybe the Italian could give himself a gift with his first Bundesliga goal against Augsburg. +++

+++ Werder fight the weather: Two hundred helping hands must be thanked that the Bundesliga match against Braunschweig was even able to take place on Sunday. The helpers began clearing snow from the pitch and steps to Weser Stadium at 7 a.m. The pitch heating would not have been enough to clear the snow in time for the 3:30 p.m. kick-off. It all started again Monday morning as half of the training grounds was cleared by 10 a.m. of fresh snow overnight so that the players could practice. Thank you! +++
