+++ Popularity, likability, full of tradition: SV Werder continues to be one of the most well-known brands in German professional football. In the new "Football study 2014 - The brand landscape of the football Bundesliga" by the Technical University of Braunschweig, the Green-Whites jumped three spots to sixth place in the representative survey. The ranking, which looks at popularity, likability and authenticity, is led by Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Bayern Munich.
SV Werder does not only stand for tradition in German football but is a valuable football brand throughout the whole world. This is proven by looking at the current Brand Finance Football 50 ranking, which looks into the most valuable football club brands worldwide. With a brand value of 69 million euros, the Green-Whites are ranked 30th. With a market value increase of 7 million euros compared to last year, SV Werder jumped two spots in the ranking. +++
+++ Petri is home: Petri Pasanen wore the SV Werder jersey for seven years. After the Finn continued his career in Salzburg and Aarhus, he will play next season for FC Lahti. The 33-year-old is not only returning to his home country but even back to his home city, which he left 14 years ago to become a professional footballer. Good luck, Petri! +++
+++ Next stop, Fenerbahce: Former Werder playmaker Diego is moving on after only half a year. The Brazilian, who moved during the winter break from VfL Wolfsburg to Atletico Madrid, is leaving the new Spanish champions and Champions League finalists and heading to Fenerbahce Istanbul, where he signed a three-year contract. +++
+++ Holiday greetings 2.0: Eljero Elia and Santiago Garcia sent their regards from holidays on Monday. Now it's time for Luca Caldirola and Felix Kroos. While the Werder defender is spending time with his girlfriend in Paris, Kroos is enjoying the streets of New York City, as he displayed on his official Instagram profile. +++
+++ Strebinger plays full match: Werder's number two keeper Richard Strebinger started the national team week on Thursday. The keeper played the full 90 minutes in Austria's U21 national team's 2-2 draw against Serbia. On Friday, Zlatko Junuzovic and Sebastian Prödl will play for the Austrian senior team against Iceland in Innsbruck at 8:30 p.m. +++
