+++ Golden generation: Götze, Müller and Co. made the dreams of millions of Germans come true Sunday night. Twenty-four years after the last World Cup title, the German national team captured the country's fourth title in Brazil. Werder coach Robin Dutt, who used to be the German Football Federation director of sports, congratulated the team to the sensational victory. "This generation has more than deserved the World Cup title. The team beat France, Brazil and Argentina in succession. That was perhaps the most deserved German World Cup title of all time," said Dutt. +++

+++ From Jena to Ibiza: One last bit of relaxing before the season preparations go into full swing. The Werder players can still take a bit of holiday before the start of the Zillertal training camp. And the Green-Whites were taking advantage of that in various manners. While Felix Kroos is getting in some sun on Mallorca, Nils Petersen is spending time in his home region of Jena. Sebastian Prödl is enjoying the free time on Ibiza. One thing goes for all of them - they must be back on the training grounds in Zell am Ziller on Saturday 19 July 2014 - even new acquisition Izet Hajrovic. +++

+++ The long wait was worth it: The new "home" jersey for the 2014-15 season can finally be purchased on Thursday 17 July 2014. Until now, the Werder fans could only admire the green jewel virtually. But on Thursday the jerseys will be on the hangers at the WERDER Fan Welt shop. The Werder Stadium fan shop will open its doors at 10 a.m. and Werder youth players Marcel Hilßner and Melvyn Lorenzen will be on hand at 5 p.m. The "home" jersey can be bought online starting Thursday and can no longer be pre-ordered. +++

+++ Time to Say Goodbye! Hundreds of Bundesliga players have run across it for years, but it has never complained - the pitch of Weser Stadium. Thanks to a lighting system, the grass can even take Bremen's worst rainy weather. But now it's time to say goodbye. From Monday to Thursday, the 105m x 68m green pitch will be swapped out. "If everything goes according to plan, the old grass will be completely taken out by Tuesday afternoon. Then we can start laying the new one," said Werder's new grounds keeper Sebastian Breuing. The new pitch should be ready by the time of the big test match during the Day of the Fans against Chelsea. Then the pitch will have it's first test to pass. +++
