++ Green-Whites dream goals: Five Werder goals have been nominated by bundesliga.de for the honour of Goal of the First Half. The nominated goals were Davie Selke's score against Dortmund, Fin Bartel's finish off a free kick against Stuttgart, Franco Di Santo's looper versus Mainz and two tallies by Zlatko Junuzovic. In addition to his score against Mönchengladbach, Junuzovic's long distance blast against Paderborn was also nominated and has good chances of winning. "Juno" is currently second in the voting with 36 percent, behind only Frankfurt's Lucas Piazon (48 percent as of 5 January 2015 11 a.m.). To improve the Green-Whites' chances of winning, all Werder fans should vote for Junuzovic here! +++

++ Lactate test to kick off: The Werder year 2015 kicked off for Fritz, Bartels and Co. Monday afternoon with a public lactate test at 2 p.m. on the Platz 11 grounds as the Werder players began their preparations for the second half of the Bundesliga season. The Green-Whites will fly to their training camp in Belek, Turkey Tuesday morning. +++

++ Farewell visit: Nils Petersen has been sent on loan to SC Freiburg until the end of the season. Since Freiburg won't kick off their second half preparations until Wednesday, Petersen used the opportunity Monday to bid farewell to the team and some employees before the start of training. "Sure I am a little sad. I felt really good here but I am also looking forward to my new challenge in Freiburg," said the 26-year-old. WERDER.DE wishes all the best and lots of success with SCF. See you soon Nils! +++

++ Kilometer eater Junuzovic: Zlatko Junuzovic isn't just known for his free kick goals but also for his strong running performances. And he proved that in the first half once again. The Austrian ran 197.12 kilometers in the first half of the season, the most in the league! +++

++ Young, younger, Eggestein: Maximilian Eggestein is the second-youngest player to appear in a match in the first half. At 17 years, 11 months and 21 days, Werder coach Viktor Skripnik sent the youngster in after 83 minutes in the 4-0 win over SC Paderborn. Gianluca Gaudino from Bayern Munich was the only younger player when he made his team about two months younger on the first match day. By the way, new acquisition Levin Öztunali is seventh on this list as the 18-year-old made his first appearance of the season for Bayer Leverkusen against SV Werder on the third match day. +++
