+++ Looking for improv talent: All of a sudden it started to rain in Tianjin. And not just a light summer rain but nearly a monsoon. Head coach Robin Dutt checked out the conditions in the stadium but decided to move the Werder training session to the weight room because of heavy rain and lightning. +++
+++ Forced break for Strebinger: Werder keeper Richard Strebinger has been forced to sit out team training at the moment. The keeper is dealing with a minor muscular problem. He was back for the Friday morning session in the weight room and hopes to train again with the team in China. +++
+++ Reunion, take two: After head coach Robin Dutt visited his former colleague Arie Haan Thursday evening, Nils Petersen can look forward to seeing an old friend again. The team will tour around Beijing shortly before flying home with their final meal on Chinese soil to take place at Puerta 22 at Worker's Stadium. The owner of the establishment is former Bundesliga player Jiayi Shao, who played with Petersen in Cottbus. "We haven't seen each other in three or four years, but always remained in contact because we always got along. I am looking forward to seeing him again," said Petersen. +++
+++ Comfortably from A to B: Volkswagen is also supporting Werder in the Far East. The automobile partner is making available three vehicles to the Green-Whites. Filbry and Co. are using the Passant and Magotan models, especially to travel to marketing meetings with Bremen city council member Dr. Heiner Heseler for the city of Bremen and the club. +++
