In the week following the clash with Freiburg, five members of the Werder squad will be away on international duty with their respective countries. Zlatko Junuzovic and Sebastian Prödl have two important European Championship qualifiers ahead of them. On Thursday, 09.10.2014, the Austrian national team travel to Moldova, before hosting Montenegro at the Ernst-Happel-Stadium in Vienna just three days later. Izet Hajrovic was named in the Bosnia-Herzegovina squad for their qualifier in Wales on 10.10.2014. On Monday, the midfielder will then face a home game against World Cup participants Belgium. Youth team keeper Raif Husic and the German ‚Under 19‘ selection have three games ahead of them. Werder's reserve team star Florian Grillitsch has been named in the Austrian ‘Under 21' squad for their international friendly against the Republic of Congo.

At a photo-shooting in the VIP area at the Weser Stadium, Selke, Bartels, Zander, Lukimya and Kroos had some stylish pictures taken for advertising and social network pages.
