The start of autumn holidays in Bremen brought out masses of fans to the Weser Stadium training grounds Monday afternoon 17 October 2011. The some 400 spectators got the chance to see all Werder's players save for the long-term injured players and Lukas Schmitz. According to head coach Thomas Schaaf, Schmitz, who celebrated his birthday last Thursday, is sick with stomach pain.

All of the other players seemed very concentrated during their warm-ups, the shooting training and the finish-up game. After two straight defeats, Werder want to collect points again at promoted side Augsburg, who last weekend celebrated their first Bundesliga victory in club history.

The next training takes place Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.
