Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf once again was working for the European ruling body UEFA during the Champions League weekend. The Green-Whites coach was a member as in past years of UEFA's Technical Study Group, which did not only analyze the final for the continental federation but the entire Champions League season.
The meeting gathered at the Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Chelsea in Munich. Among the others in the study group were Massimiliano Allegri (AC Milan), Roy Hodgson (English national team coach) as well as Fabio Capello and Gerard Houllier (currently without a club) The expert commission also decided on the Champions League's best goals. "As always, it was a very comfortable, very interesting collaboration. The season and also the final had plenty to offer," said Schaaf, who returned to Bremen on Sunday and asked his team to come together for a final time before the summer break at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
