Werder's 2-2 draw against Greuther Fürth drew disappointment from everyone on the Green-Whites sideline. "That match was a disappointment - once again! You just cannot play like that against the last placed team," said Aaron Hunt, who scored twice from the spot. "I am dissatisfied with this performance," added head coach Thomas Schaaf.
WERDER.DE collected further reaction after the match at Weser Stadium.
Thomas Eichin: "We increased the pressure in the second half, but we made too many errors today. Especially on their goals. That just cannot happen."
Thomas Schaaf: "I am dissatisfied with the performance. The defence was not the problem, but it was the slow push forward into the attack. And the example was their first goal, when we just let their players run through the defence. We did not really do our work. I told the team in the changing room that I am mad. The performance today cannot be repeated again. We are running in place at the moment."
Zlatko Junuzovic: "We did not exert enough pressure in the first half and allowed chances due to our own errors. We started the second half with the goal from Aaron. That should have given us some confidence. But after that we were completely naïve and conceded the 1-1. And then we go behind on a dream goal. In the end, a draw in our own stadium is not enough. We are all dissatisfied and very disappointed."
Aleksandar Ignjovski: "In the first half we were lucky that both of Fürth's chances went just wide. We then started well in the second half and went ahead through Aaron's goal. After that unfortunately we gave up two goals. That just cannot happen."
Sebastian Mielitz: "I am speechless. I can only apologize to the fans. We actually owed them a victory today. We just gave up too much in the back and were not close enough to the opponents. And in the attack we just couldn't find the means. We cannot allow this to happen at home."
