The 22,778 spectators at Weser Stadium will say Werder's 3-3 draw against Aston Villa was a typical Werder match, recalling the good Bremen times. A real spectacle with lots of goals on both sides. There were mistakes that need to be corrected but also plenty of offensive actions to make it really fun. The draw was a fitting close to the Day of the Fans 2012. WERDER.DE collected reaction after the game.

Thomas Schaaf: "Despite the goals conceded, I am satisfied with the game. It was a very interesting test against a strong opponent which will start competitive play next week. They were very effective, very motivated, pressured us and demanded a lot from us. We presented ourselves well. We showed again that we can play with many variations and that our players can have strong showings in many positions."

Sebastian Mielitz: "We really have to think about some things. We have to talk about the goals conceded. We did not look good on two set pieces. All told, we played too deeply in the first half. After the break we played a little better. I found it positive that we once again saw a team that gave their all to avoid the defeat and after that absolutely wanted the game-winner."

Manager Klaus Allofs: "If it had ended 4-3 then we could have been very satisfied. So I can understand Miele when he is not happy to go after the ball three times in his net. But we still have time. The Bundesliga start in Dortmund is still some time away. On Tuesday we have another important test. Then there is the cup match. I do not know if the coach today had in mind the Bundesliga start when he set his starting line-up."
