No, the performance was not good. Yes, the equalizer in the end was a bit lucky. But Werder head coach Robin Dutt did realise something from the match against VfB Stuttgart that he did like. He saw a team that compared to the matches in the first half of the season had built up more substance. So much substance in fact that it can avoid losses even though it didn't play well.

"In the last few weeks, it's been decisive for us to gain a lot of points and consistently call up our good mentality. You could see that we have become very stable. We were able to get into the box, were fouled more often and aimed in the final 20 minutes on getting this point," said Dutt about the Green-Whites' development.

WERDER.DE was in the mixed zone and collected more reaction:

Thomas Eichin: "I knew that it would be a tough match today. But we can be satisfied with the final result after 90 minutes. Stuttgart played today in principle how we are playing at the moment on the road. They did a very good job not allowing too much space and altogether were a very uncomfortable opponent. Every point is important in the fight against relegation. Especially in matches where not much is working, you have to play with passion and take something with you. We did that today. We can live quite well with this point."

Assani Lukimya: "We didn't play today like we had recently. It's a shame we didn't get three points but when you look at how the game went with them missing the penalty and us falling behind, we have to be satisfied with the draw. We just didn't move well enough today and never got into the game. Sometimes there is no explanation for that."

Aaron Hunt: "We are happy about winning the point, which certainly was a bit lucky. Stuttgart were the better team today. We couldn't find our game and made things difficult for ourselves. Still, we are generally satisfied with the point because we just didn't play a good game."

Raphael Wolf: "We can live with the point after how the match went. Going in, we had hoped for more. We wanted to get three points in front of our own fans. In the end, it's important that it wasn't a loss. We will gladly take the point."
