Sebastian Prödl is on the way to recovery following the serious facial injury suffered in the game against Kaiserslautern. "The operation on Monday went well. I still have major pain and really have to rest a lot. But slowly things are moving forward," said Werder's defender Thursday afternoon on his home page. "When the healing process continues and the doctors give their okay, maybe I can leave the clinic on the weekend and drive home. Then it's a matter of honour to be at Weser Stadium and support Werder against Leverkusen."
The Austrian international has been really impressed with the support from the past couple days. "First of all, I would like to thank everyone very much who wished me good luck and get well over the past couple days. I am really happy that not only Werder fans wished me well but also many from Kaiserslautern, Nuremberg, Hamburg and of course from my hometown Steiermark. That shows that there is fair play and respect in the Bundesliga, not only rivalry," added Prödl.
