Centre backs Sebastian Prödl and Sokratis were the focus of Friday afternoon's final training even though they will not be on the pitch together on Saturday. Both did play together in the back four for the "Green" team in the final training match but a nomination for the squad against Hertha Berlin would come too early for Prödl. The Austrian was finally back in team training for the first time since his serious facial injury in the game at Kaiserslautern. And Prödl talked about his hour of training. "It was very good for the first training session. I still shied away from some headers, but it's getting better. Hopefully it will continue like this," said Prödl.
His defensive colleague Sokratis once again praised Otto Rehhagel as the Greek international made his national team debut under the new Hertha head coach. And Sokratis was full of respect. "He is a great coach. He has achieved so much, especially for us Greeks and the victory at Euro 2004. Tomorrow will certainly be a difficult match. Both teams are under pressure. We have to win and it's also almost like a final for Otto Rehhagel and his team," said Sokratis.
