Recovery run, treatment and massage - that was Sebastian Prödl's program for Wednesday morning. And it sounded promising. After the Austrian once again took the pitch for SV Werder in Lüneburg after one and a half months and played the full match, Prödl's day started with the necessary peace. "Everything went well. I don't have any pain. The treatment did good," said the 24-year-old.
The biggest worry for the Austrian international defender in his first match after suffering facial fractures in Kaiserslautern was going up for challenges in the air. But the game against the amateur Landesliga team helped. "I would like to continue to give my all in training and get back the security and get over my respect for these challenges. I am not worried at all if I am ready for Sunday or not. Instead I just want to get completely fit for the Bundesliga," said Prödl.
Just a few minutes before Prödl and Co. took the pitch, Philipp Bargfrede, fitness trainer Yann-Benjamin Kugel and Naldo ran some laps around the training grounds. "I am getting better and better. I was running for 20 minutes with Benni and ‘Nana' to get back into the swing of things. I assume that I can train again tomorrow and will be fit again for Hannover," said Werder's No. 44 after getting over a flu which had kept him out since Sunday.
