Marko Arnautovic, Eljero Elia and Nils Petersen looked more often to shoot at training on Friday and the goal was clear. "We must be more effective," said head coach Thomas Schaaf three hours earlier at the official press conference before the home match against Nuremberg.
The Green-Whites have been training with this special focus since the beginning of the week. "The character of the match is a major reason," said Schaaf in the afternoon, providing more details on the issue. "We kept putting the players in the situation. It's about keeping the ball better with you and concentrating more on your own actions, being present in front of the goal and looking to shoot yourself and not crossing to others. You can train that very well."
Hunt is ready for 90 minutes of action
The second-youngest roster in the Bundesliga (average age 24.7 years) has time until Sunday 5:30 p.m. to be more efficient. SVW second-best scorer this season Aaron Hunt could be a big help in that regard. The deputy captain returned to the pitch in the middle of the week after recovering from his calf problems. "It was important for Aaron that he took a break. We didn't want to risk that he would be out a longer time. There was no negative reaction at training. He was able to go through all the movements," said Schaaf, who assumes that Hunt will be at full strength on Sunday. Hunt, himself, is ready for 90 minutes. "I would like to help the team to keep the three points at Weser Stadium," said Hunt.
